# A CGM Is a Glucose Sensor. A Photo Log Is Dinner. They Are Not the Same Job.

> A CGM shows a spike after the meal. Option 1 is Khatwa for the plate and leftover calories. A clinician-prescribed CGM is option 2. Khatwa does not treat insulin resistance.

The problem is two devices sold as one story. A continuous glucose monitor is a medical sensor. It can show a rise after you already ate. It does not count the rice, the oil, or the leftover calories. A photo log counts the plate and still cannot treat insulin resistance. Option 1 is Khatwa if the job is dinner you will finish logging. Photograph the meal. See calories and protein. Ask the coach what is left. Free on iOS and Android. A clinician-prescribed CGM is option 2 if you have a diagnosis that needs glucose data. We do not claim the camera is better than a sensor. We do not reverse insulin resistance. This is not medical advice.

## What a food log can still do

It can show that a "healthy" bowl was 900 calories. It can keep protein on the plate. It cannot flatten a clinical glucose curve. If a clinician asked you to wear a CGM, wear it. Use Khatwa for the meal, not as a replacement patch. Deficit basics: [calorie deficit explained](https://www.khatwa.se/en/blog/calorie-deficit-explained.md).

### Log the plate. Leave glucose to a clinician.
