Meal Prep for a Calorie Deficit: Repeatable Plates You Will Actually Log

Meal prep is not a personality. It is a way to stop making 21 food decisions under hunger. If the boxes are miserable, you will order Thursday. If they are logged once and easy to repeat, the deficit survives a work week. Option 1 is Khatwa. Photograph one serving. Save the favorite. The rest of the boxes are copies.

Three plates beat twelve recipes

Pick a protein, a carb you like, and a vegetable you will eat cold or reheated. Examples that show up in real kitchens:

  • Chicken, rice, cucumber yogurt. Oil measured when you cook the batch.
  • Fish or tuna, potatoes, salad. Dressing in a separate cup, logged.
  • Lentils, eggs, bread, tomatoes. Protein still hits if eggs are not optional.

Cook the batch. Plate one serving. Photograph it in Khatwa. Save the favorite. The rest of the boxes are copies. For homemade logging without a scale, use homemade meals without a food scale.

Leave a hole for life

Prep lunch, not your entire social calendar. One restaurant dinner logged from a photo is healthier for the streak than a rigid plan you abandon. See how to log restaurant food.

Protein is the prep target, not "clean"

If the boxes are rice-heavy and protein-light, you will snack. Build toward your daily protein number first. Calories follow when oil is not free.

Prep the log as well as the rice

Photograph one serving, favorite it, repeat all week. Ask the coach when a night out shows up. Free on iOS and Android.
